CRITIQUE-EEHN Joint Reading Session – November 4, 2022, 2 pm
Please join us for a special session of Critique Reads, which will be held in collaboration with the Environmental Humanities Network on 4th November 2-3pm.
We are planning to convene one joint session per semester, and this will be the first in in this series of reading groups.
The two texts that we’ll be looking at are from the September special issue of Environment and Society, focussing on ‘Global Black Ecologies’:
- ‘Introduction: Global Black Ecologies‘ by Justin Hosbey, Hilda Lloréns, and JT Roane, pp. 1-10; and
- ‘Black as Drought: Arid Landscapes and Ecologies of Encounter across the African Diaspora’ by Brittany Meché, pp. 60-77.
We’ll be meeting in CMB (Chrystal MacMillan Building) Conference Room 3.15.
