Nathan Law will share insights on the collective efforts for the fight of democracy in Hong Kong and discuss the implications of the Chinese Communist Party’s various policy implementations, including the National Security Law, on the future of Hong Kong. Below are some of the questions that may be addressed:
- How have the protests in the last decade, ranging from the Umbrella Revolution to the Anti-Extradition Law movement shaped the political lives and futures of Hong Kongers?
- How might democracy and freedom be attained in Hong Kong?
- Where do pro-democracy Hong Kongers go from now?
- What are the political implications for Hong Kong and China in the global order?
The talk will take place in Edinburgh on Tuesday 24 October at 6:30pm at 40 George Square, Lecture Hall A.
A rare opportunity to hear from an activist who has strived for democracy and freedom in Hong Kong! Followed by the talk and the Q&A will be book-signing of Nathan Law’s newest book, Freedom: How we Lose it and how we Fight Back.
